UCP Of Sarasota - Eating Chocolate For A Good Cause At Micheal's On East
Everyone here at Ascendia has a heart as big at the ocean when it comes to helping others. So when our resident pastry chef and chocoholic, Heidi found out that United Cerebral Palsy of Southwest Florida was having a Chocolate Festival benefit at Michael's on East, she grabbed Amanda (because we all know she's always up for food) and headed down to support a worthy cause and eat as much chocolate as they could.
And they weren't disappointed...
All of Sarasota had come out to show their support. The amount of chocolate could be measured in tons and the calories could not be charted. Our favorites included cupcakes by Pastries by Design, outrageous Carrot Cheese Cake from Soma Creek Side and donuts from La Dona Donuts (Mmmmm Maple Bacon) and fabulous peanut butter chocolate cake from our buddies at Duvals.
After the event, Heidi went home to bake cookies for the office. She is a professional and can't get enough chocolate. Amanda went home and changed into pants with an elastic waist. She is still in recovery.
United Cerebral Palsy Sarasota-Manatee, Inc does a wonderful job serving our community for those in need with a full array of beneficial services and resources to individuals with disabilities and their families. Please visit their website at www.ucpsarasota.org and show your support.
